WHERE ARE WE?

In Northern Tuscany on a hill near Pietrasanta

"I HAVEN'T BEEN EVERY-

WHERE

BUT IT'S ON

MY LIST."

Susan Sontag

Capriglia is a small village on top of a hill. At the foot of the hill lies a small medieval town, Pietrasanta, famous for its marble crafts. Pietrasanta is in the province of Lucca, approximately 3 km inland from the coast between Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio and 33km north of the nearest airport of Pisa. Although Pietrasanta is small, it has drawn the attention of artists and tourists who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. You can dine at the excellent restaurants or have a drink on the Piazza. The town's surroundings hold a variety of choices: you can visit the marble studios, stroll around mundane sea side resorts, visit markets or tour the Tuscan cities and sites. Capriglia has a spectacular night and day view. On a clear day you can see the islands of the Tuscan archipel: Gorgona, Capraia, Elba and sometimes even as far as Corsica.

How do I get to Capriglia?

The nearest airport is Pisa and some low cost companies like Easyjet, Ryanair and British Airways fly directly from and to the UK. Ryanair flies directly from Ireland (Dublin -Pisa).
